What This Apparatus Does
This apparatus consists of a glass U-tube, with a bulb and tap at the upper end of one limb and the other limb left open. From the bottom of the U-tube, an outlet tube passes through a bung and terminates in a tap. The bulb has a capacity of 7cm³, and the graduated stem beneath it is marked in divisions of 3×0.1cm³, allowing gas expansion to be read over a temperature range of 100°C. The apparatus can be supported on a single clamp.
