Lab Instruments Manufacturers manufactures the Automated Continuous Distillation Pilot Plant in-house at our own India facility, supplying it to engineering colleges and chemical engineering labs, and as an OEM/private-label item to distributors and exporters across India and internationally.
What This Pilot Plant Does
This is the fully automated version of our continuous distillation range: feed is drawn from a 5-litre feeding tank by a metering pump (0 to 8.5 litres/hour) into a 600mm column with 7 bubble-cap trays, with a 3-litre reboiler (1,600W heater) at the base. Distillate collects in a 1-litre tank and bottoms product in a 2-litre tank, with 3 tube-in-tube heat exchangers condensing vapour and 6 digital thermometers/electronic indicators monitoring the column.
Automated Instrumentation and Control
Compared to our Continuous Distillation Pilot Plant, this unit adds full closed-loop automation: a microprocessor-based digital PID controller with a serial card manages the process, backed by an oil vacuum pump (4 m³/h), 2 electro-pneumatic converters (4-20mA / 0.2-1 bar), a residual-pressure transmitter (0-1000 mbar, 4-20mA), and 2 pneumatic control valves (Cv=0.32) that automatically regulate condenser cooling-water flow and residual pressure. Two variable-area flow meters (20-250 l/h, 4-20mA) monitor flow, with a vacuum circuit and trap for reduced-pressure operation. The electrical control unit is manufacturer-stated as IP55-rated and built to comply with EC standards — buyers requiring formal certification documentation should confirm directly with us before specifying.
Manufactured In-House
This plant is fabricated and assembled at our own India production facility using stainless-steel pipework throughout. Manufacturing in-house means our team controls build quality and instrumentation calibration at every stage, and can configure the plant for a specific curriculum or export order without waiting on an outside supplier.
